An iconic mixed-use development in Tech City.
The White Collar Factory is our largest business win to date. Rayward had been trading for just a year when we were appointed to work on this project by global construction company Multiplex.
Set in East London’s Tech City on Old Street Roundabout, White Collar Factory is a ground-breaking new mixed-use development of office space, restaurants and apartments. At the heart of this urban campus stands a 16-storey office tower extending to 237,000 sq ft.
Every detail of this high-tech development, designed by architects Allford Hall Monaghan Morris for Derwent London, had to meet exceptionally high standards.
Our initial task was to design and install a 32-flight staircase for the tower which reflected the industrial aesthetic of the building. Throughout the installation of this phase, only one crane on site had sufficient reach and was therefore in constant use by other construction crews. To avoid any delays, we overcame this restriction by installing the 32 flights by hand.
